ReactOS
is an Open Source effort to develop a quality operating system
that is compatible with Microsoft Windows(TM) applications and
drivers. ReactOS is licensed under the GNU General Public License.
The ReactOS project, although currently focused on Windows NT
4.0 compatibility, is always keeping an eye towards >compatibility
with future Windows NT releases, that is, Windows 2000 (NT 5.0)

ReactOS
ist ein OpenSource-Projekt mit dem Ziel, ein qualitativ hochwertiges,
zu Windows NT, 2000 und XP Anwendungen und Treibern kompatibles
Betriebssystem zu entwickeln. ReactOS wird seit 1996 entwickelt.
Bereits im Sommer 2005 werden größere Anwendungen wie
Mozilla oder Open Office funktionieren. Der Name ReactOS soll
die Unzufriedenheit mit Microsofts Monopolstellung ausdrücken.
Die ideale Reaktion auf Unzufriedenheit ist seit je her: Besser
machen. ReactOS richtet sich an Leute, die freie Software mögen,
aber auf die Bequemlichkeit und auf den Bedienungskomfort von
Windows nicht verzichten wollen.

The New ReactOS Homepage is online! The ReactOS Web Team has been working hard on the new homepage for over 3 months, and now it is available online. The website has been designed by Klemens Friedl who's design suggestion had won the voting. The web pages are now static files which are generated and maintained with the new ReactOS Content Management System. The RosCMS has been completely written from scratch especially for the new ReactOS website. http://www.reactos.org

The current official homepage is outdated and it is really hard to find some new information about ReactOS. A good start point is the ReactOS Wiki. Several people now are working on the new ReactOS homepage! The new homepage will use static pages to reduce server load/bandwith, will get a new design and updated content. The pages are generated with RosCMS system. The static pages will be valid html 4.01 and xhtml 1.0 pages. If you have some good suggestions (e.g. new content topics, new sections, new features for an official compatibility database, useablility, etc.), please write an email to:
